This information was tweeted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself. He cited reports that the national capital does not feature in the list of most polluted cities in the world. He has also shared the list of top 10 cities in his tweet.
Arvind Kejriwal has congratulated Delhiites through his tweet. In his tweet, Arvind Kejriwal wrote that after a long time Delhi has not been included in the list of most polluted cities in the world. Arvind Kejriwal said that we still have a long way to go. We have to be among the cleanest cities in the world.
Lahore tops the list of top-10 cities
According to the report, Lahore of Pakistan has become the most polluted city in the world. While Mumbai is the second most polluted and Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, is at number three in the world’s top 10 most polluted cities. Taiwan’s Kaohsiung is on the fourth position, Kyrgyzstan’s city of Bishkek is fifth, Ghana’s city of Accra is on sixth, Poland’s city of Karko is on seventh, Qatar’s city is Doha on eighth, Kazakhstan’s Astana is on 9th and Chile’s city of Santiago is on number 10.
This is why Delhi’s name was removed from the list of most polluted cities
According to data from the Union Environment Ministry, PM 2.5 levels in Delhi are set to decline from 135 micrograms per cubic meter in 2016 to 97 micrograms per cubic meter in 2022. This is 28 percent less in 5 years. PM 10 levels are also set to decline from 291 micrograms per cubic meter in 2016 to 211 micrograms per cubic meter in 2022, a 27 percent reduction.
