The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has once again achieved great success in the anti-Naxal campaign. Jawans have recovered a total of 14 IEDs in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. All these IEDs were planted to target the security forces. A CRPF spokesman said that under Operation Gravitas-3 being run against Naxalites, Central Reserve Police Force and Jharkhand Police units recovered 12 IEDs planted in series.

CRPF destroyed all IEDs on the spot

According to the CRPF, in the first operation, 209 CoBRA and Jharkhand Police contingents were operating in the dense forests of West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. As soon as they reached about 2 km from Rengrahatu Forward Operating Base, the jawans while scanning the area carefully recovered an IED buried in the ground. According to the information, as the soldiers carefully tracked the wires coming out of the IED, they found 11 other IEDs. All 12 IEDs were connected in series, which means they could be detonated simultaneously. After this, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad destroyed the IED on the spot.

2 IEDs also recovered in Chhattisgarh

In another operation in Chhattisgarh, troops of 206 Cobra Battalion and Chhattisgarh Police carried out an operation in the area near Elmagunda Forward Operating Base. As the troops carried out a careful search of the area, they found two objects connected by a wire which looked like IEDs. The CRPF said sniffer dog Bahadur was called to confirm the IED, which indicated the explosives in the object. The weight of these 2 IEDs is said to be about 5-5 kg, which were destroyed on the spot.
