Criminals shot at CSP operator in Purnia: Were going home to withdraw money from the bank, firing after failing in the robbery; injured

On Wednesday evening, near Kajra Mode under Kenagar block of Purnia, the CSP operator, who was going home after withdrawing cash from the bank, was injured by a bike rider with the intention of robbing him. There was chaos in the area as soon as the bullet was fired. On hearing the sound of bullets, the criminals ran away waving their weapons till the nearby people reached. Local people rushed the injured to the Medical College Hospital where they are undergoing treatment in critical condition.

It is being told that the injured is Santosh Kumar, son of Chuni Lal Sah, a resident of Sadhbaili village under Kasba police station area. He runs the CSP branch of UCO Bank in Rinku Yadav’s house located in Baneli village of Kasba. Landlord Rinku Yadav told that Santosh along with his brother Laxmi Sah had gone to collect money from UCO Bank in Purnia by bike. He was going back home after taking out about 5 lakh cash from the bank.

On reaching Kajra Mode in Kenagar, two criminals riding a bike tried to snatch a bag full of money from the front. In this sequence, a fight started between Laxmi Sah and the criminals. Then a criminal opened fire on Santosh. The bullet went out touching Santosh’s body. The victim has informed the police about the incident. The police is investigating the matter
