In China, the new variant of Corona BF-7 is showing its effect on a large scale. Due to this, the number of corona infected in China is increasing rapidly, while Indians are also worried, but the relief news is that the head of CSIR- Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) has claimed that there is no case of corona virus in India. The BF-7 variant will not have as much effect as it is currently showing in China, as ‘herd immunity’ has already developed in Indians.

    need to be careful

Stressing on the need to follow COVID appropriate behaviour, CCMB Director Vinay K Nandikuri said that there is always a concern that all these forms have the ability to evade the immune system and the virus can infect those people as well , who have been vaccinated and even those who have been infected with the Omicron form. That’s why it is necessary to be cautious. He said that use the mask and also follow the prescribed physical distance rule.

Herd immunity has developed in Indians

He said that the infection of the current form is not as serious as it used to be due to the infection of the delta form of the virus. This is because we have ‘herd immunity’ to an extent. In fact our immunity has increased because we are exposed to other viruses. The official said that the “zero covid policy” adopted by China is one of the main reasons for the rapid spread of the infection in the country. He said that the low rate of vaccination also increased the severity of the infection there.

Vaccination rate is high in India

The CCMB director said that India witnessed a delta wave, which was very severe. We got vaccinated and then the Omicron wave came and we continued with the preventive dose. We are different in many ways. What is happening in China may not happen in India. Nandikuri said that the rate of vaccination in India is high. Precautionary doses have also been given to the elderly and susceptible population at large. He said that although it cannot be claimed that no wave of infection can come in India, but it does not seem that any wave of infection is coming immediately.

227 new cases of corona infection

During the last 24 hours, 227 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country. 198 patients have been cured. With this, the number of active cases has now increased to 3,424. This is 0.01 percent of the total cases of infection. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare gave this information on Sunday. Media reports indicate that four cases of the BF.7 variant of the corona virus have been reported in India.
