Elections to 2 Municipal Councils and 4 Nagar Panchayats in Purnia were held on December 18 last. Today, on Tuesday, the work of counting of votes was started in the local Purnia College from 8 am itself. Which ended in the evening. To hear the result of counting of votes, a crowd of candidates and their supporters kept outside the counting venue since morning. Everyone was curious to hear the results. Supporters were eagerly waiting to celebrate with flower garlands and abir, gulal in hand.

Slowly, as soon as the counting results started coming, more supporters than the candidates started celebrating the victory in the joy of victory. Started congratulating each other by applying Abir Gulal. And after the defeat, the defeated candidates and their supporters silently slipped away from there.

These people have won the post of Chief Councilor and Deputy Chief Councilor in Dhamdaha, Mirganj, Rupauli and Bhawanipur in Purnia’s Kasba and Banmankhi Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayats.

Chief Councillor:- Sanjana Devi – 4167 votes
Deputy Chief Councillor: Pramila Devi – 3561 votes
3: Nagar Panchayat Mirganj :-
Chief Councillor:- Mikul Devi – 5478 votes
Chief Deputy Chief Councillor:- Jayprakash Paswan- 3145 votes
4: Nagar Panchayat Dhamdaha :-
Chief Councillor:- Rani Devi – 6222 votes
Deputy Chief Councilor:- Meena Kumari – 5340 votes
5 : Nagar Panchayat Rupauli :-
Chief Councillor:- Niranjan Mandal- 3216 votes
Deputy Chief Councillor:- Indu Devi – 3130 votes
6 : Nagar Panchayat Bhawanipur :-
Chief Councillor:- Sawan Kumar- 4121 votes
Deputy Chief Councillor:- Shanti Devi – declared victory by 3054 votes.
