Congress Presidential Election: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday praised Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor, both the candidates contesting for the post of party president. Rahul Gandhi while speaking about both said that both have their own stature and both are well savvy persons who cannot be operated with remote control. He also said that talking of remote control about the two leaders is an insult to him.
‘Both the people who entered the election have the same status’
Rahul Gandhi, for the first time openly speaking about the candidate for president’s election, tried to dispel the notion that the Gandhi family could remotely control the next Congress president. “Both the people who have landed have the same status, a point of view and they are strong and intelligent people. I don’t think any of them will be remote controlled. To be honest, these things are going to humiliate him.
‘People are tired of unemployment and inflation’
Referring to the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Rahul Gandhi said that he is not alone in this journey but lakhs of people are involved in it as they are tired of unemployment, inflation and inequality. Gandhi also said that he believes in ‘tapasya’ by nature and wants to share their pain by reaching out to people through ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. A distance of 3,500 km is to be covered from Kanyakumari to Kashmir during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. He said that spreading hatred and violence is an anti-national act and ‘we will fight every person involved in it’.
‘We are opposing the new education policy’
Rahul Gandhi Said, ‘We are opposing the new education policy, because it is distorting our history, traditions. We want a decentralized education system. The Congress leader said that the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is not for the 2024 elections and the Congress wants to unite people against the division of the country by BJP-RSS.
