The farmer-friendly Chief Minister Farmer Interest Waiver Scheme of the state government has started from May 14. The process of taking applications from farmers has started from May 14. The scheme was launched in Indore district by two ministers Tulsiram Silavat and Usha Thakur on May 14 at 3.30 pm. Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat inaugurated the scheme from Kachhalia village of Saver assembly constituency and Tourism and Culture Minister Usha Thakur from Harsola village of Mhow assembly constituency. Former MLA Manoj Patel launched the scheme in village Agra of Depalpur assembly constituency.

Deputy Commissioner Cooperative Madan Gajbhiye said that, similarly, in other 119 service committees of the district also, the local people’s representative was present and launched the scheme. Under the scheme, outstanding loan interest of more than Rs 24 crore 44 lakh of 9 thousand 415 farmers of 119 service cooperative societies of the district will be waived off. It has been decided by the State Government that such farmers of Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) affiliated to District Cooperative Central Banks of the State, on whom the total liabilities (principal + interest) as on March 31, 2023, are up to Rs. 2 lakh and defaulters If there are, their interest will be reimbursed by the government. Short term and medium term converted loans will be included in the calculation of total liabilities. From the list of defaulter farmers as on March 31, 2023, only those defaulting farmers who apply will be given the benefit of the interest waiver scheme. For this, the Chief Minister Farmers Interest Waiver Scheme has been implemented.
