60-year-old Yamuna Singh, who was kept in custody at Buxar’s Koransarai police station, committed suicide by making a noose of his own pot. A CCTV video has surfaced of him committing suicide by tying a towel to a fan in a closed room. It is seen in the CCTV video that he kept trying for 2 hours to hang himself. Yamuna Singh was detained under the SC-ST Act.
In this case, the relatives had blocked the Dumraon-Vikramganj road for two hours while creating ruckus on Thursday. The police itself was accused of murder. In this case, the SP had suspended the SHO. Now the police has released the CCTV footage of the entire case. The cause of death was suicide.
Even after releasing the video in his defence, questions are being raised on the police.
Police negligence came to the fore
This is considered to be a big negligence of the police. The detained person should have been guarded by the police but it was not done. However, taking prompt action in this matter, Koransarai police station chief Junaid Alam has been suspended by SP Neeraj.

Senior citizen kept in another room in place of emergency
According to the rules, after arresting any accused, they are kept in custody. While this accused was kept in the computer room. It was said that this was done because of being a senior citizen. On the other hand, seeing the opportunity on Wednesday night, Yamuna Singh ended her life by making a noose of her own pot and hanging herself from the fan in the room.
According to the local people, Yamuna Singh was self-respecting. Due to the allegations in the case of SC-ST Act and being brought to the police station in custody by the police, he had come into depression.
Tried for two hours, then went and hanged
According to the CCTV footage, Yamuna Prasad had tried several times to hang himself. First they tied a towel to the fan, then started hanging it around the neck, but the circle became smaller. After this, he opened the pot with the fan and then made the size of the neck and tied it to the fan. But he could not succeed. In this way he tried more. Two hours later he was hanged. The entire incident was captured in CCTV.
The family had demanded an inquiry into the FIR.
After the incident on Thursday morning, angry relatives and villagers blocked the Dumraon-Vikramganj road for two hours. SP Neeraj Kumar Singh, who arrived on getting the information, had assured that action would be taken against the guilty after investigating it impartially. The SP was urged to properly investigate the FIR registered against the father by son Pintu Singh.
