The Bihar government will go to the Supreme Court against the ban imposed by the Patna High Court on the municipal elections. Senior Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that the Bihar government has been working continuously for the most backward.

In the last 15 years, they have been put forward at the social level and in such a situation their entitlement will not be allowed. The manner in which this decision has been taken is like pushing back the most backward society. The Bihar government hopes that the decision of the Supreme Court will come in their favor.

On Tuesday, the High Court had said that 20% of the reserved seats for the Most Backward Classes (EBC) should be generalized and issued a fresh notification. Along with this, the State Election Commission was told that if it wants to extend the date of polling, it can extend it. Following this decision, the Election Commission has postponed the municipal elections to be held on October 10 and 20.

The minister said- entitlement to the interests of the most backward classes

Vijay Chaudhary said that the High Court’s decision has come, it is not proper. Due to this the people belonging to the most backward classes are getting entitlement. One can understand that this provision of reservation was made in 2007. In the last 15 years, three elections have been held on the provision of this reservation. Everyone has seen that the men and women of the most backward classes are progressing in the social level from all sides. Now unnecessary interruption came in between him.

The minister said that the Bihar government is determined that in any way the rights of the most backward will not be allowed to be defeated. The decision which has come will be appealed against in the Supreme Court. We sincerely hope that the final verdict of the Supreme Court will come in our favor.

    BJP will protest

The Bharatiya Janata Party will burn the effigy of the Bihar government at all the district headquarters of Bihar on Thursday against the non-implementation of reservation in the Bihar municipal elections, spoiling the future of 4600 municipal candidates and handing over all the municipal bodies to the officers.

This guideline of the Supreme Court

In its decision on behalf of the Supreme Court, it was said that the state government should first ensure the formation of a special commission to give reservation to the backward classes in the local body elections. The commission constituted by the government should study that which class is really backward. It should be decided to give reservation to them only on the basis of the report of the commission. The Supreme Court had also said that the reservation limit should not exceed 50 per cent. The Supreme Court said that if the state governments do not fulfill these conditions, then if the local body elections are held in a state, then the reserved seats for the backward classes should also be treated as normal.

    The state government did this

The commission was not formed before the election. Second- 20% additional reservation given to EBC (Most Backward Classes), which is different from the reservation of OBC. After this the reservation limit was increased to more than 50%. A petition was filed in the High Court regarding this.

Bihar urban body elections postponed: After the order of the High Court, the State Election Commission took the decision, there will be no elections for both the phases
