    West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said about the Balasore triple rail accident that if the train had an armor system, the train accident could have been averted. The claims of CM Mamata Banerjee have been rejected by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

    In fact, after reaching Balasore on Saturday (June 03), CM Mamata Banerjee had said in front of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav that if these trains had an armor system, the train accident could have been avoided. On Sunday (June 04) Ashwini Vaishnav has said that the Balasore train accident happened due to change in electronic interlocking.

    Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that

    The crash has nothing to do with the armor system
    , Kavach is an indigenous Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) developed by the Ministry of Railways.

    Speaking to ANI, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said,,This train accident happened due to change in electronic interlocking. It has nothing to do with armor.

    The reason for this is not what Mamata Banerjee said yesterday.

    This phenomenon is due to a change in electronic interlocking.

    Mamta ji spoke on the armor system, on the basis of her information.

    Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “It is a completely different issue, it involves point machines, electronic interlocking.

    The accident occurred due to the change that occurred during the electronic interlocking.

    Who did this and how it happened will be known after proper investigation.”

    The death toll has risen to 288 and over 1000 are injured in the three-train accident that took place at 7 pm on June 2 at Bahanga Bazar station in Odisha’s Balasore. Preliminary investigation has revealed that this is the deadliest railway tragedy in 30 years.
