Allegations of irregularities in the construction of Supaul-Araria new railway line: Villagers protest; Somewhere there is no proper compensation, somewhere there is complaint of arbitrariness in construction

Irregularities are coming to the fore at every level in the construction of Supaul-Araria new railway line. Somewhere allegations are being made of not giving proper compensation in land acquisition and somewhere complaints are being made of arbitrariness in construction work. Anger is being seen among the concerned people regarding this. Villagers along with the local panchayat representative protested against the construction of new railway station being constructed at Thumha under Pipra block in Supaul-Araria new rail line, accusing the company engaged in earth filling work of selling soil illegally.

On the other hand, the villagers told that JPW company is doing earth filling work at Thumha new railway station on Supaul-Araria new railway line. According to the rules, the company has to fill the soil by bringing it from outside. But the company is selling out illegally by cutting soil from JCB at a depth of 02 meters from the station land. Along with this, the railway is also putting on the bed. Therefore, legal action should be taken against the guilty company surveying the matter.

Here, in the acquisition of land in the Supaul-Araria new rail line, the ryots have complained to the DM about wrong reporting of land and houses on JE and Amin. Regarding this, Mo. Fazlur Rahman, a resident of Kataiya Milik of Kataiyamahe Panchayat under Pipra block, told that his land and house have been acquired for the construction of Supaul-Araria new railway line. Whose proper compensation has not been given even after almost two years have passed. For this, applications were given dozens of times in the District Land Acquisition Office. After this application has been given to DM with the last hope. He told that about 55 decimals of land has been acquired.

Partial compensation has also been received for the house constructed in the year 2014. Irregularities have been committed on a large scale by the JE and Amin associated with the survey. The dilapidated houses in our neighborhood have been compensated in the form of newly constructed houses. While the compensation for my newly constructed house has not been given even equal to the dilapidated house. That’s why proper compensation should be given after fair investigation of the matter.

Regarding this, Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway Hajipur Birendra Kumar said that only the local administration can tell something in the matter related to the process of land acquisition. Where then there is a matter of illegal sale of soil by the company engaged in the construction of the station, then it will be investigated. Regarding this matter, in-charge DM cum DDC Mukesh Kumar said that after the process of land acquisition, this complaint was made by many raiyats. It is that they are not getting proper compensation. This type of matter comes up in the Janata Darbar, we get it investigated. Whatever fact comes to the fore after conducting the investigation, we take appropriate action on it.
