Online wages are not being received in the account of MNREGA laborers working in Bihar. Along with stopping the payment of laborers, the payment of materials has also become a problem when the plan is confirmed. The situation is that Rs 72.25 crore is owed to the unskilled laborers working in MNREGA and Rs 9.21 crore to the semi-skilled laborers in the state. Along with this, Rs 251.53 crore is outstanding for the material. Including tax, a total of Rs 353.37 crore is outstanding.

The situation is such that the laborers do not know where to complain about non-payment of wages. On the other hand, the authorities have been informing them continuously for one month that they have not been paid from above. Till now, after the laborers have done the work, after filling the online job card by the concerned PO, payment has been made in the account of the concerned laborers. But, after October 25, the payment of these laborers has stopped. Madhubani district of the state has the maximum arrears of Rs 30.25 crore for wages and materials, while only Rs 1.90 crore is outstanding in Arwal district.

Rs 9.98 crore outstanding for wages and materials in Muzaffarpur

According to the Rural Development Department, 9 crore 98 lakh 58 thousand rupees are due for the material along with the wages of the laborers working in MNREGA. In this, 3 crore 8 lakh 68 thousand rupees are outstanding for wages of untrained workers and 16 crore 64 lakh rupees for less trained workers. Along with this, 6.22 crores of material item and Rs. 50 lakhs as tax is outstanding.

83.38 percent work has been completed

A total of 165441 schemes have been started in the MNREGA scheme from the financial year 2019 to 2022. In this, 137945 schemes have been completed so far and 27496 schemes are incomplete. Maximum 92.35 per cent projects have been completed in Murail block of the district. The lowest 77.77 per cent projects have been completed in Madwan.

But, in the wage item The payment is pending. Correspondence is being done with the department for this. It is a state level matter and the payment has to be made from there.”
