Patna Railway Police has exposed one such thieves who used to run a gang by taking hotels on rent. They used to steal many other things including mobile theft by targeting the passengers traveling in the train. This was confirmed by Rail SP Amrit Indu Shekhar Thakur.
Rail SP said that a youth was caught on the basis of suspicion at Rajendra Nagar station. During interrogation revealed the presence of other members in the hotel. On the basis of this, the police raided the hotel, where 5 backpack bags, 33 mobile phones, five bags, trolley and two watches were recovered from the room. Also, a total of six criminals were arrested.
The leader of the arrested gang, Roshan Kumar told that he had taken the hotel on rent in the name of job in Patna. Used to deposit in the hotel after carrying out the incident of theft. From there the stolen goods were distributed to other members. Thieves used to sell it cheaply by telling some personal problem to people walking on some road. Staying in the area of Patna district, he used to steal the luggage of those traveling in the train. Where the value of recovered goods has been estimated to be more than five lakhs.
At present, after the disclosure of the interrogation of the gang members, the police is engaged in raids for the arrest of other members and recovery of the goods. At the same time, Aadhaar card was found along with several debit and ATM cards from a seized bag. During investigation, it was found that a woman working as Nursing Head in Deoghar AIIMS was traveling in the train and her bag was stolen by the thieves. In this case, a case of theft was registered at Prayagraj station.
